Bwindi Impenetrable National Park protects 331 square kilometers of primordial rainforest—vegetation unchanged for 25,000 years. This UNESCO World Heritage Site harbors nearly half the world's remaining mountain gorillas (approximately 459 individuals), making it the most important site for gorilla conservation on Earth. Over 20 habituated family groups welcome visitors daily, each trek limited to just 8 people per group.

The trek begins at park headquarters with a briefing from experienced rangers. You'll learn gorilla behavior, trekking protocol, and safety guidelines (maintain 7 meters distance, no flash photography, turn away if you cough). Then you enter the forest, following trackers who locate the gorillas before dawn each day.
