Sipi Falls

Sipi Falls is a stunning natural attraction in Eastern Uganda, where the Sipi River cascades over three cliffs, creating a series of spectacular waterfalls. The highest fall drops 100 meters into a pool below, creating a misty spray that can be seen from afar. Sipi Falls is located at the foothills of Mount Elgon. Mt Elgon is a dormant volcano that straddles the border with Kenya. The Sipi Falls area is filled with stunning nature and diverse cultures, providing visitors with a wide array of enjoyable activities and experiences.

You can also abseil down the main waterfall, or take a coffee tour and learn how the local Bugisu Arabica coffee is grown and processed. If you prefer a more relaxing stay, you can simply admire the views of the Karamoja plains,  and the slopes of Mount Elgon from one of the many lodges and campsites in the area. What to see and do

You will be swayed by the breathtaking views of the valley, river, and villages along the way. You can also visit some caves and hot springs near the falls. The hikes range from easy to moderate and can take from 1 to 4 hours depending on your pace and preference.

Abseiling: If you are feeling adventurous, you can try abseiling down the main waterfall, which is 100 meters high. How to get there

Sipi Falls can be found in the eastern part of Uganda, approximately 277 km away from Kampala, the bustling capital city. The most effortless approach to reach this destination is by means of road transport, whether utilizing your own private vehicle or opting for the public bus.. The journey takes about 6 hours and passes through Jinja, Mbale, and Kapchorwa towns. Alternatively, you can fly to Soroti airport, which is about 100 km from Sipi Falls, and then take a taxi to the falls. You can also hire a car or a driver from Kampala or Jinja to take you to Sipi Falls.
